Welcome back to Feats N’ Faults, where our Tiered Point System ranks and records our favorite characters based on their achievements and deeds. Please check the About Page for a more in-depth look at how points are awarded. Our Tier System is below for quick reference. Spoiler Warning!
It's been a long time since we visited this galaxy far, far away. Before we cover any more of the Jedi or Sith, I want to showcase one of my favorite aspects of the Star Wars Universe: the Clones. They were the backbone of the republic, and many had fascinating journeys and character developments. You can tell I love these guys because we have already covered the Bad Batch in a previous Feats N' Faults. While they are clones, they will not be in this week's feed. Instead, we will be covering Captain Rex, Gregor, Wolffe, CX-2, and Cody. Let me know who you think will end up on top in the comments. No Peeking!
Let’s Get Started!
Feats N’ Faults, Star Wars: Clones
5th Place, Commander Wolffe: 14 FN’F Score (2008-2024) 21 ep.
Wolffe may be at the bottom of this week's list, but he is at the top when it comes to uniforms. Wolffe has to have the coolest suit of armor and motif among the clones. I mean, come on, his squad is called the Wolf Pack. How do you get more badass than him?
Wolffe served under Jedi Master Plo Kun during the Clone Wars. During this time, he fought in battles and even saved populations by providing war relief. He was an expert tracker and fighter as well. He proved this when he was able to capture Jedi Ahsoka while she was on the run from the law. However, like most clones, he was sucked into the ranks of the Empire after Order 66.
While Wolffe is loyal, he turns out to be more faithful to his brothers. During the Bad Batch, a couple of surviving clones showed up on different sides of the fight. Wolffe was part of the Empire now but chose to let his brothers go. We have not seen what became of him after that, but we know he ends up on that AT-TE as an old man. I believe it is whatever torture or reprogramming he had to go through after this act that caused him to report the rebels to the Empire. Even at that moment, he was thinking of his brothers. Wolffe would do anything for his fellow clones.
4th Place, Captain Gregor: 17 FN’F Score (2013-2024) 10 ep.
Up next, we have Gregor, another clone with no faults to his name. When we are first introduced to Gregor, he has no memory. He is a humble cook working in a backwater world until he is found by a Republic Colonol. After his memory is regained, he destroys a Ridonium factory to give the Colonel a chance to escape. He somehow survives the explosion and is drafted by the Empire to train the next generation of troops. Like the rest of the clones, he eventually finds himself fighting alongside Rex to aid the rebellion and overthrow the Empire. Unfortunately, war is not won without casualties, and Gregor is gunned down. However, he left his mark and made a difference everywhere he went.
3rd Place, CX-2: 20 FN’F Score (2024) 6 ep.
Oh boy, CX-2 is the only clone I can think of that is entirely under the Empire's influence. There is considerable speculation about who CX-2 is. The best theory is Tech from the Bad Batch is under that mask. Tech went missing after sacrificing himself to save the others. This theory holds significant weight, but until it is confirmed, his score must remain separate, and CX-2 gets his own scorecard.
CX-2 got busy during his only season of the Bad Batch. Here, he ran rampant, constantly outthinking and outmaneuvering the other clones. He was even able to disarm Crosshair... Ahem... I mean, dis-handed him! What a showing for only having six episodes under his belt.
2nd Place, Commander Cody: 28 FN’F Score (2005-2023) 2 Movies, 35 ep.
Here we go; now we are getting into the meat of it. Commander Cody was my favorite clone growing up. He is still in my top two, for sure. He does not get as much limelight or character development as Rex, but the fact that he serves under Obi-Wan says a lot. He even saved him on multiple occasions. Cody may be more calculating than Rex, but he is just as competent in a fight. While I was expecting his score to be higher, I never thought he would take first place. Second place makes absolute sense, but we all know who was going to take first.
1st Place, Captain Rex: 138 FN’F Score (2008-2024) 2 Movies, 116 ep.
Jesus Christ, Rexy, you were really gunning for first, weren't you? Captain Rex is an iconic character during the prequels and is now becoming even more prevalent with the Bad Batch and flashback appearances in Ahsoka. I mean, look at that episode count. The dude has been in one hundred and sixteen episodes of at least three different shows. It is not possible to think about the Clone Wars without thinking of Rex.
Rex served under Anakin, and many of Anakin's tactics rubbed off. Rex can be brash, but he has the tactical knowledge and skill to back that up. If I ever had to fight an army of clankers, I would want him leading the charge.
If you examine his achievements, you can see that he consistently fought above his means. As a simple clone trooper, he was able to capture a force user in Darth Maul! Darth Maul is not an easy target, and yet Rex managed to pull it off. He also stopped two clone armies from killing themselves when a rogue Jedi tried to plan a genocide. However, the most impactful feat was when he had to turn on his own brothers to save Ahsoka. It was torture to hurt his own men, but it had to be done for the greater good. Rex is a true hero and ally. It is no wonder he was able to survive this long and achieve such a high score. What a journey and what a man.
With an FN'F score this big, we have to take a look at where he stands on our overall leaderboard. Currently, he is ranked 22nd overall when compared to everyone we have ever scored here at Feats N’ Faults. I didn't see that coming; he's killing it. Way to represent the Star Wars Universe. To put that into perspective, he outscored the Hulk from the MCU and the great detective Hercule Poirot by 14 points! Outstanding showing. I'm quite simply gobsmacked and proud of this clone. Who knew a throwaway line in A New Hope would lead to such stellar storytelling?
