Welcome back to Feats N’ Faults, where we use our Tiered Point System to rank and record our favorite characters based on their achievements and deeds. For a more in depth look on how points are awarded, please check the About page. Below is our Tier System for quick reference.
We have a bombshell of a feed this week! Many of our top-tier lists will be shaken loose because we are covering the Loki Series. This series follows a variant of Loki, whose plot hinges around the multiverse. With stakes this high you know characters have the opportunity to get some crazy scores. If you are playing at home, go ahead and list these characters from least to greatest, and let me know in the comments how you did! Go ahead and rank Loki, Sylvie, Mobius, O.B., Victor Timely, and He Who Remains.
. Let’s Get Started!
MCU: Loki
In Last Place, we have O.B. He appeared in the second season and showed great promise. He built some impressive tech and wrote the TVA handbook. He just never really put those things to use. In the end, his machines failed and did not solve anything. He had all this knowledge and sophisticated tech but could not achieve anything with it. He only scored a 5 FN’F Score, which is pretty dismal compared to the others on this list.
In 5th Place, we have a Kang variant, Victor Timely, with an 8 FN’F Score. He suffered the same downfalls as O.B. They are also both in a bit of a paradox loop because each one wrote their version of the TVA handbook based on each other’s. So, who really wrote it? In the end he was a neat inventor from the 1800’s but he just was kind of there. Never really achieved anything. He had promise, but he was better on paper than in action.
In 4th Place, we have Mobius. Now, Mobius is a big disappointment with a meager 10 FN’F Score. There is some eluding that he pruned some universes, but they come from an unreliable narrator. Plus, he even said he did not have the guts to prune one universe, which got him in trouble. So, with no proof he actually destroyed universes, he is stuck with his mediocre score. I was expecting more from our first main character in both seasons. He just couldn’t compete with the next three characters on our list. I think this might be the highest gap between places in any FN’F Feed. Get ready for this point jump!
In 3rd Place, with 167 FN’F Score is our second favorite Loki Variant, Sylvie! What a score. She was only in two seasons of a show and pulled in numbers higher than some characters in an entire franchise. She is cunning, ruthless, and a powerhouse. She saved a Universe from being pruned in the second season, which was a huge boost to her score. She also did some amazing things during the first season. Able to enchant a giant creature and kill He Who Remains. It seems it does not matter what universe you are in; you shouldn’t underestimate a Loki.
In 2nd Place, we have another wild jump with He Who Remains at 278 FN’F Score. This Kang variant came in winning a multiversal war. He established the Sacred Timeline and created the TVA to protect it. He has been working behind the scenes of the entire MCU. He is the best version of Kang we have seen so far. It is a shame the actor turned out to be a douchebag. I think if a version of Kang like this were to show up in a movie, people would have been able to see him as the final threat of the phase. Now, Marvel seems to be a bit frantic about figuring out where to take the series. I don’t envy their situation at all. Still, this character was a monster and scored a total worthy of his title.
In 1st Place, we have Loki, with an FN’F Score of 432! That is an insane score! With this score, Loki is currently the highest-scoring character in the MCU. Putting him in the company of The Master and Donna Noble. This version of Loki really found his place with the TVA and Mobius. He has a great character arc and finally finds the throne he always wanted. While he might not be particularly thrilled with the throne he earned he did save the entire Multiverse. This feat alone is enough to skyrocket you to the top of our tier lists. I think Loki is going to be there for a really long time. I do not know how they are going to handle the trickster god now, but I am curious to see if he will show up in future MCU projects. I think season two was a perfect ending for his character, so I am not sure what they could do with the character now. Guess we will have to wait and see.
Review: 6/10
Loki is an interesting MCU project. It has a feel and look that is all its own. Its plasticky retro-future vibe is a cool setting. It makes it stand out from all the other shows and movies. It is the plot that loses me a bit. I think the first season was solid. It was not amazing, but it explored interesting ideas with a fun amount of fan service. Then, the second season came out. It felt a bit long and bloated. To the point where you could skip the whole plot about finding the TVA members when they were on the Sacred Timeline. It did not lead to anything, and there is an entire episode devoted to it that literally just gets erased anyway. What really turns me around to the series is the ending. I loved it. I loved the visuals, the performance, and the culmination of a character arc. It is a fitting end to the Loki character and makes the rest of the season worth it. We have been with this guy for years. To see him finally overcome his ego and just sacrifice himself for the greater good is some top-tier character development. I worry they will bring him back, but I hope they will let him have this end. It is just good storytelling.
Recommendation:
If you like the character Loki, then yes. The ending is worth it.
Thanks for checking out this week's feed; it was a doozy. As always, do not be afraid of that like button, and tell a friend about our weird, nerdy corner of the interwebs. All the support is greatly appreciated and really helps to get this feed out in a timely manner. I will see you all next Thursday!
. Until Next Time!
I like Loki a lot more than I was expecting, especially since I’m just a very casual MCU follower. I’d award alligator Loki 500 points just for being alligator Loki
It's a shame the whole Jonathan Majors stuff derailed the MCU's plan just when they set it up with Kang and his variants
