Welcome back to Feats N’ Faults where we analyze our favorite characters and see how they stack up to each other. In today’s feed, we are taking our first jump into the MCU. As of this release the last MCU project has been the Echo series. If these characters show up in future movies, I will be sure to update their scores. Now let’s jump into our heroes. We are taking a look at the Ant-Man family. We have Stature, The Wasp, Ant-Man, Hank Pym, and Janet van Dyne. For our villains, we are taking a look at M.O.D.O.K, Ghost, and Kang. Go ahead and rank these characters at home and play along. Let’s see if you ranked them in the right order!
Ant-Man: Heroes
Starting our list we have Stature. I would say that this character has only been in one film, but I would be lying. She has only been in one film that scored her any points. Scott’s daughter has shown up in every Ant-Man movie, but in the most recent one, she was finally able to suit up and join the family business. She started a bit rebellious for a superhero. Earning a Fault in the beginning for shrinking a police car. She quickly showed what she was made of and started racking up points. Unfortunately, she has not done anything to stand out. She beat the MCU’s inferior version of M.O.D.O.K and saved her parents, but that’s about it. Because of this lack of Feats, she is at the bottom of our list.
In 4th place we have Janet van Dyne. Just like Stature she only has one Fault. For some reason, she did not share anything about the Quantum Realm with her family. Ignoring the existential threat that was coming from her world. Once we get past that she has done some pretty impressive Feats. She has some smaller Feats in the present day, but her biggest came from when she was the original Wasp. She disarmed a bomb to save New York. This city-level feat helped to boost her score to the 17 she has now.
In 3rd place we have The Wasp. Unfortunately, the Women in this series did not show up to play. The three female characters are at the bottom of this list. The Wasp scored an almost respectable score of 27. I think the Wasp deserved to score a little bit higher. Hopefully, she gets more things to do in the future so we can raise it even higher. In the end, she does not have any major or universe-rocking feats. She earned her score through determination and tenacity. Never scoring anything higher than a group point, she slowly worked her way up to a 27 FN’F score.
We made it to our top two heroes. In 2nd we have Hank Pym. This score surprised me. Going into this I was not expecting Hank to come in second place. I wasn't expecting him to score at all. To my surprise, he scored a total of 34! Not bad for the old man. Proving himself as an inventor he earned a nice portion of his feats by creating suits and Pym Particles. In the most recent movie, he started to show his power. Using his ants, Hank put a hurt on Kang and his army. With Hank in second we all know who is coming in first.
No surprise to me we have Ant-Man in 1st place. Ant-Man has a very respectable score of 51. He kept consistently scoring in his own movies but also in the Avengers movies as well. Never being one to save the Universe or save the Planet, Ant-Man still has done a lot for his Universe. His knowledge of the Quantum Realm was pivotal in stopping Thanos and he stopped Kang from escaping. He is a great hero with a pretty good score. He did the MCU proud. We will have to wait and see how he stacks up with the other characters from the MCU. So subscribe and stay tuned to the feed to see!
Ant-Man: Villains
As we move on to the villains, we take a look at one of the most disappointing characters from the Ant-Man series, M.O.D.O.K. He is a surprising character because he has had two movies to earn an FN’F score. He was in the first Ant-Man movie as Yellowjacket. However, even with the two-movie advantage he is ending up on the bottom of our list. His cute little butt can’t save him from his mediocrity. I think we all expected more from this character. Maybe he will be able to redeem himself down the line.
In 2nd place we have Ghost! Even though she has only been in one movie she still scored higher than M.O.D.O.K. Though to be fair, she only scored higher than him by 2 points. She tied with Janet and did not score a single Fault. I would say this is a decent showing, but I think other villains from the MCU will prove to score much higher.
Here we go! In 1st we have Kang. This is the type of score I was expecting from the MCU. Scoring a very respectable 185, Kang is currently at the top of our MCU FN’F. I am not sure if he will be able to stay in the top 10 when we are done exploring the MCU, but right now he is dominating the field. It was his off-screen Feats that made him stand out. Destroying an entire universe will boost your score. You other characters should take notes!
Review, Ant-Man Trilogy: 6/10
The Ant-Man trilogy is an interesting one. Like a lot of the MCU movies, they do not work super well on their own. With this in mind, I still enjoyed these movies. I think the first Ant-Man was the best. I liked that one. It was funny, had some fun visuals, and had the right amount of action. I think it started to go downhill from there. I liked the second one enough, but it was the third one that fell a bit short. I think they tried to go too big with Ant-Man. His movies should never had stakes this high or deal with this strong of a villain. I think the humor was a big misstep too. Too many jokes just did not land. Because of this, the overall score dropped about a point. 6/10 is still good, but I do not think I would recommend the entire trilogy. I would say just watch the first one. unless you’re really into the MCU. Then you just have to watch it all to keep up with the continuity.

Until Next Time!
