Welcome back to Feats N’ Faults, where we use our Tiered Point System to rank and record our favorite characters based on their achievements and deeds. For a more in depth look on how points are awarded, please check the About page. Below is our Tier System for quick reference. Also, Spoiler Warning!
I thought it was about time that we did something current on this feed. The most recent MCU project was Agatha All Along. Today, we are going to look at her Coven and see which witch stands above the rest. If you’re playing at home, list Agatha, Death, Wiccan (Teen), Jen Kale, Alice Wu-Gilliver, and Lilia Calderu from least to greatest. Let me know in the comments how your lists turned out and who your favorite witch is!
Let’s Get Started!
6th Place, Death: 4 FN’F Score (2024) 6 ep.
At the bottom of our list is the most powerful member of the coven, Death. She might be brimming with potential, but she needs to use it! Just being strong is not enough in FN’F. She was able to kill Agatha. That’s a pretty big deal. Plus, she escaped the Witch’s Road. I just wanted to see her do more. Aubrey Plaza is iconic casting. I love the flippant and disconnected energy she brings to the character. Then you put her next to Agatha, and the sparks fly. Those two actresses have so much chemistry. At the beginning of the series, Death licks Agatha’s hand. It had the most sexual tension in the MCU. Their forbidden love is captivating; I would love to see more of it. I'm just not sure how it will work now that Agatha is a ghost. It might just make Death want her more.
5th Place, Jennifer Kale: 6 FN’F Score (2024) 8 ep.
Jen is the witch that I am the most excited about. She is a little-known character from the comics. You see her showing up in some Midnight Suns titles, which intrigued me the most. I have advocated for a Midnight Suns movie or show. They are slowly building a roster, and Sasheer Zamata would be the perfect addition. Right now, I am picturing Moon Knight, Werewolf by Night, Man-Thing, and Elsa Bloodstone joining her to make up a very interesting team. If Marvel ever gets Blade under control, he could join, too. Going to have to finalize a script before that happens.
I know Jen is just begging for some action; after being bound that long, anyone would want to stretch their wings. Having her final scene be flying into the sunset leaves the door wide open for her to pop up in anything. I can’t wait to see her in action.
4th Place, Wiccan: 8 FN’F Score (2021-2024) 14 ep.
This next one might be controversial. Teen, or Wiccan as he is known in the comics, is a powerful individual. Like his mom, this can lead him to do things he does not even realize. His powers manifest by creating the Witch’s Road and all the set challenges. This means Wiccan is the reason for the death of Sharon. He made the poison, he set up the room, and he killed her. He is responsible. Since Wiccan is known as a hero, I had to score him as such. Killing an innocent woman, even if it was unintentional, is an obvious fault for a hero. On the bright side, it is still in the early days. Wiccan will show up in oodles of future projects. With all his power that score should improve significantly.
3rd Place, Alice Wu-Gulliver: 8 FN’F Score (2024) 8 ep.
Starting the top three is Alice. She was a nice addition to the coven. When first introduced, I didn’t think I would be a fan. The grumpy loner archetype was the less interesting one of the bunch. Once we settled in and got to know her, that completely changed. While Jen is the one I am most excited about for the future, Alice is my favorite in the coven. The back story with the family curse hit me. The idea of her mom creating a protection spell through a song is a stroke of genius. The crowd was her coven, and whenever the song was listened to, she was protected. Brilliant, and the coven having a jam session to destroy that curse is so fun! All the song scenes are neat, but the ‘70s version is my favorite. I hope we see Alice return, but I think her fate is sealed.
2nd Place, Lilia Calderu: 12 FN’F Score (2024) 7 ep.
Lilia had one of the best episodes. I believe it was episode 7 where we finally started to put together her lapses in time. They kept throwing puzzle pieces at us, and we never knew what to do with them. Lilia put them all into place.
Talk about a badass. She has one of my favorite lines in the show where she knocked a vampire’s tooth out. Had me giggling all night. The tarot reading saved the group, and then she sacrificed herself to save the others. Talk about amazing feats! She did not score a single fault either. She hung on to every point she earned and reached second place. She was the first and best recruit for the coven.
1st Place, Agatha Harkness: 46 FN’F Score (2021-2024) 17 ep.
Surprise, it was Agatha in first place all along. Not too shocking, she did have an entire season on the other witches. She has also lived for centuries and drained so many other covens. I can only give her points for the ones shown on screen, but I bet she drained countless. Being scored as a villain has its advantages, and she used em’! Not a single fault is a common trait amongst these witches. To put her score into perspective, she scored higher than K9-MKII from Doctor Who and Mayhem from the Allstate commercials. I am unsure if she will stay a villain or become a hero in the future. I’d say she lived long enough to become a hero, but she’s dead. It's a good thing ghosts are cool. Maybe she can join the Midnight Suns too!
Review, Agatha All Along: 8/10
Agatha All Along is a very well-written and performed show. There are good twists, solid acting, and tense drama. It keeps you guessing and makes rewatching it just as fun as the first time. There is only one plot point that I’m not a huge fan of. I like Agatha finally doing something for someone else and sacrificing herself to let Teen live. Her coming back as a ghost deflates that sacrifice. I am excited that the character will return and am intrigued by the drama of being unable to face her son. I wish that moment could hold its initial impact. Even with that, it is a great show. The only reason it has not scored higher is that I am just not the target audience, and that’s okay! I am so excited to see Marvel start to stretch their wings, tell different stories, and target different demographics. It’s fantastic and will help the longevity of the MCU.
Recommendation: It will be your new yearly Halloween tradition
