Welcome back to Feats N’ Faults, where we use our Tiered Point System to rank and record our favorite characters based on their achievements and deeds. For a more in depth look on how points are awarded, please check the About page. Below is our Tier System for quick reference.
You didn’t think you could escape the MCU that easily, did you? We are still deep into our exploration of the MCU, so of course, we are going to be covering some aspects of it this month. We have to keep it themed with our spooky season, though! What better way to do that than to cover the darker and spookier parts of the MCU, Moon Knight and Werewolf by Night?! For those of you who like to play along at home, go ahead and rank Moon Knight, Scarlet Scarab, Elsa Bloodstone, Man-Thing, Arthur Harrow, and Werewolf by Night from least to greatest.
Let's Get Started!
Last Place, Man-Thing: 2 FN’F Score (2022) 1 ep.
Poor Man-Thing, or Ted, as he liked to be referred to in this. He is just capable of so much more! I really hope we see more of Ted in the future because Man-Thing is such a cool character. I have always loved his design, and I think he looks fantastic in this—especially in black and white. Wowza! Unfortunately, he was just in a single special and did not get much screen time in it either. He is lucky he could scrape up the two points he did. I hope to see you soon Ted! I really do.
5th Place, Werewolf By Night: 9 FN’F Score (2022) 1 ep.
For anyone playing at home do not be too mad. This one messed up my bracket too. I never would have thought that he would have been outshined in his own special. Werewolf by Night was still able to hold his own though. Scoring 9 Feats in a single episode is pretty solid. There is definitely no shame in that. I hope we see more of him soon, just like Ted. I really thought they were starting to build the Midnight Sons, but I haven’t heard any news or speculation about it in a long time. Come on Marvel! This was an epic special, and I am still waiting for a follow-up! Team him up with Blade, Moon Knight, and Doctor Strange, and let’s get this ball moving.
4th Place, Elsa Bloodstone: 10 FN’F Score (2022) 1 ep.
Unfortunately, we have another character from the special. Elsa and the others just did not have enough screen time to outperform the characters from Moon Knight. I am confident that with more screen time, they could really show us what they can offer, but until that day comes, they are stuck with these underwhelming scores. Elsa is a really cool character in the comics too. I would have really preferred to see her get a Disney Plus series instead of Agatha Harkness. You could go really brutal and scary and release it around Halloween. A Monster of the Week show would be super cool to see in the MCU. Come on, Kevin; I know you read this, so why not just make it already?
3rd Place, Arthur Harrow: 19 FN’F Score (2022) 6 ep.
Alright, with six times the episode count I would hope that you could make it to third place. Arthur is the servant of Ammit, the Egyptian god. He is always running around judging people before they even have a chance to do anything wrong. With these powers, he is able to build a cult-like following. Killing those who may do wrong in the future while saving and protecting those he deems worthy. He thinks he is the good guy. Stopping evil before it has time to take root but he is just too brutal. His convictions are strong, but in the end, just like in this feed, he is no match for Moon Knight or the Scarlet Scarab.
2nd Place, Scarlet Scarab: 21 FN’F Score (2022) 6 ep.
This was a pleasant surprise for me. It is not very often I get to watch something Marvel that has a character that I am not familiar with. Scarlet Scarab was created for this show, and I think she nailed it. Just like the rest on this list, I hope we see more of her in the future. She is just the whole package. Really smart and capable, able to kick butt, and does it all wearing this dope costume. What more could you want? Plus, she scored in the twenties. That is pretty, pretty, pretty good for only having six episodes and not being the main character.
1st Place, Moon Knight: 32 FN’F Score (2022) 6 ep.
All right, let’s give it up for Moon Knight. All three of his personalities are here to shine, and boy, did they deliver! I enjoyed the Moon Knight series. I was really excited for it to get a season two, and yet here we are. Two years later, there is no word of a sequel. I really hope Marvel does not waste Moon Knight and forget about him. I am telling you a Midnight Sons movie would be amazing and he deserves a spot on that team. I want to see how his different personalities would interact with a group or team. It would make for a very interesting movie, lead to fun action scenes, and develop a unique team dynamic.
Moon Knight used his six episodes to kick butt and save an entire city. Each persona lends itself to different situations, which makes him an entire team all rolled up into one. He can find the tomb of Alexander the Great while also being able to trap gods or win a street brawl. A super interesting character with a decent Feats N’ Faults score. To put it into perspective, Moon Knight was able to beat Black Panther by a single point. Anyone who can beat the King like that deserves some respect.
Reviews:
Werewolf by Night: 6.5/10
It’s good. I really liked the black-and-white motif that it used. I like the trend that it could set with Marvel releasing more stand-alone projects. There is some neat action and a good set design. It is not a masterpiece or something that I would watch over and over again. It feels more like a prologue that is just getting us ready for more to come. Yet, there is no more. So, until that happens, I am going to be a little disappointed. These characters have gotten so close to getting the respect they deserve. I hope they get it in the future.
Recommendation: Yes, especially if it is dark and stormy.
Moon Knight: 7/10
Fun action with an interesting premise. The switching of personalities does a lot of the heavy lifting. It keeps it feeling fresh and gives us something new in the Marvel universe. The costume is fantastic, and I really want to see more of it. Next season or movie, let’s take a deep dive into his third personality and see how the two we got to know deal with realizing there is a third guy rattling around in there.
Recommendation: Yes, If you don't like it, maybe your other personality might.
