Welcome back to Feats N’ Faults where we use our Tiered Point System to rank and record our favorite characters. If you want a rundown on how points are awarded, please check out the About page. Below is our Tier System for reference.
I am excited about today’s feed. Today we get to cover the 10th Doctor and some really interesting companions. The past couple Doctors have not had very many people to cover. This era, however, has a plethora! For companions we are going to be covering Martha, Rose, Astrid, Wilfred, Mickey, Jack, Donna, K-9 MKIII, and the 10th Doctor. You know the drill by now. If you are playing at home, go ahead and list these guys from least to greatest. For the 10th Doctor just guess if he beat the 4th Doctor’s score. Let’s get to it.
Companions:
Oh, Wilfred. Why hath thou scored so low? Wilfred is a great companion and just what the Doctor needed. The Doctor seemed to relate to Wilf more because of his age. That allows the Doctor to finally take his walls down and show his emotions. Wilf is just a loveable old man. He is ultimately the undoing of the 10th but how could you not give it all up for this guy? One of my favorite companions. Short-lived, but absolute perfection.
I am sensing a trend here. We have another short-lived companion in 7th place, Astrid. Astrid was a companion on the Voyage of the Damned special. Just like with Wilf, I think she would have been a great companion. Less screen time than Wilf but she just beat him out by 2 points.
Up next we have our best boy K-9 MKIII. The third iteration of this tin dog was able to save the planet from a black hole! He deserves some respect and all the treats.
In 5th Place we have Martha Jones. Martha is a childhood favorite of mine. She was strong enough to give up the Doctor but was always there when he needed her. Her appearances on Torchwood helped to up her score, but it still wasn’t enough to make it to the top 3. Underrated companion but a solid score.
In 4th Place we have everyone’s favorite tin dog, Mickey! The moment he realized that he was just like K-9 was priceless. Even though he is compared to K-9, he did not do as well as him. Only scoring 44 points Mickey could not compete with the rest of the companions during this era. However, I was surprised that he made it this high on the list.
This might come as a surprise, but Rose is only in 3rd position. She had a good solid run and was a great companion to start the revival era, but I never liked Rose. I think she is a bit overrated. But hey what do I know? 62 is a great score, but nothing compared to our next two.
In 2nd with an astonishing 106 points is Jack Harkness. Jack did pretty well with the Doc but where he shinned was his time with Torchwood. Having your own show and team does a lot to increase your score. This guy was also a menace. Some of his faults are horrendous! with that in mind, it is still no small feat to score in the hundreds. I have a feeling we will see Jack on our top 10 leaderboard when we are done with Doctor Who.
In 1st we have Donna with... “Spit take” ... 450 points! Donna is an absolute Monster. She saved the multiverse and moved a solar system worth of planets back. This companion has scored more than all the Doctors except for the 4th! She scored higher than the 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, and fugitive Doctors put together! As of this feed, she has skyrocketed herself to 2nd place overall! Not bad Donna, not bad.
The 10th Doctor:
The 10th Doctor portrayed but David Tennant is a huge fan favorite. This Doctor pushed the series into a new realm of popularity. His points do not disappoint either. Scoring 355 points the 10th is now only behind the 4th Doctor. I think those two are a good comparison too. They are both seen as the favorite for each era. The mascots you might say. The 10th was my favorite Doctor for a very long time. If you want to know who my favorite Doctor is now, then stay tuned and subscribe to the feed.
Review: 9/10
I love this era of the show. I think they are a great jumping on point because this is when I first fell in love with the show. Some of the effects are a little hokey and don’t hold up but it’s Doctor Who from the 2000’s so what do you expect? Tennant’s acting is top-tier, and you can just tell that everyone is having a blast on set. Super fun with episodes that smack you right in the feels. Some fun lore in there too. It has it all. Anyone interested in Doctor Who should check these seasons out. Anyone who is already a fan has already watched it, but I would even recommend a rewatch. My favorite 10th Doctor episodes would be:
Gridlock
Planet of the Ood
Voyage of the Damned
Speaking of rewatch, if you know anyone watching through Doctor Who don’t forget to tell them about the feed and subscribe. All the support helps. We currently have a special FN’F which will release at 100 subs! So, let’s see how fast we can get there. I am excited about that one.
Until Next Time!
