Welcome back to Feats N’ Faults, where we use our Tiered Point System to rank and record our favorite characters based on their achievements and deeds. For a more in depth look on how points are awarded, please check the About page. Below is our Tier System for quick reference.
2024 Leaderboard:
With a new year comes our yearly look at which characters stand above the rest. We have gained so much data this year! Let’s put it to work and bring you our current Top 25! I’m not going to play hard to get either. Right here is our 2024 Leaderboard! Did any of your favorites make the cut?
Honorable Mentions:
Working our way up from the bottom, you can see that you need to score at least in the hundreds to have a chance. There were three other characters that broke the 100 barrier but were just not able to break into the top 25.
Wrecker - Star Wars
Doctor Strange - MCU
Ronald McDonald - McDonald’s
Hunter was able to beat Ronald by a single point. I don’t know which is more impressive: the fact that Ronald McDonald is even in the conversation or that a clone was able to beat a clown with seemingly limitless power and potential. Feats N’ Faults is a crazy place.
Leaderboard: 25th-21st
25th: Hunter (CT-9901) - Star Wars
24th: Captain Jack Harkness - Doctor Who
23rd: R2-D2 - Star Wars
22nd: Celestial Toymaker - Doctor Who
21st: Hulk - MCU
Looking at the bottom row we see a nice variety of characters and IPs. Captain Jack and Hunter were going neck and neck their entire run, but Jack was able to beat him out in the end.
I was also pleasantly surprised by R2. I love seeing that little droid here. Being an iconic character really helped his score, as he was in every trilogy and many Clone Wars episodes. He even popped up in other shows. You just could not keep this guy off the screen!
The Toy Maker only had two serials, but he scored most of his points because of his monologue. Saying all the things he did off-screen boosted his score by a good bit. His classic era episodes were significant in his development too. Almost capturing the Doctor and tormenting his companions can do wonders for your FN’F Score.
Lastly, we have the strongest Avenger, Hulk. I was not sure if we would see him on this list. He is incredibly strong, but he only has one stand-alone movie. Yet, he was able to work his way here. What I find the most interesting is that he tied with the next character on the list.
Leaderboard: 20th-16th
20th: Hercule Poirot - Agatha Christie’s Poirot
19th: Jo Grant - Doctor Who
18th: Davros - Doctor Who
17th: Thor - MCU
16th: John Wick - John Wick
Can you believe that a little Belgian detective was able to use his little gray cells to tie with the incredible Hulk? It is fun stats like this that I live for. Sure, Poirot has more screen time, but he is just a man. A very talented man, no less, but he has no superpowers. No alter ego that allows him to throw buildings and punch gods. Yet there he is. Tied with Hulk on the leaderboard because he significantly impacted his universe. What a detective!
Next, we have two characters from Doctor Who. One of his longest rivals and a fan-favorite companion. Jo has no powers, but she did save the universe once. That is the kind of power that a show like Doctor Who gives normal people. Anyone can impact the universe when he is around. Some choose to impact it negatively, and that is where Davros comes in. He created the Daleks and started the Time War. The Doctor has been able to stop him, but there is almost a Joker/Batman relationship there. They both respect each other and create/inform each other’s character. Neither can ever kill the other, and they are forever locked in this species-wide feud.
Thor has been in the most Marvel projects, so it is no wonder he made it on the list. I am sure he will make a return to so that score has the potential to balloon even higher. I wonder if he will be able to hold his placement for next year.
John Wick impresses me the most on this list. He was in no TV episodes and only had four movies to prove himself. Boy, did he! What an action-packed joy ride that shows what a determined character is able to do. It is through sheer tenacity that he was able to score higher than gods and immortals.
Leaderboard: 15th-11th
15th: Sylvie (Loki Variant) - MCU
14th: Kang the Conqueror (Kang Variant) - MCU
13th: The Great Intelligence - Doctor Who
12th: Thanos - MCU
11th: Clara Oswald - Doctor Who
Sylvie was another surprise placement for me. She was in two seasons, but I feel like she did not have as much screen time in the second season. I guess when your plot deals with the multiverse, it gives you a lot of opportunities to increase your score.
Kang is another character who got most of his score off screen. The tales of what he did are more impressive than anything we saw. In the end, he was beaten by a bunch of ants—probably the lamest way a character on this list has been beaten.
The Great Intelligence (TGI) is one of those Doctor Who villains that flies under the radar. He has been around for the classic and revival eras but gets little love. Whether he is inhabiting snowmen of yetis he is a force to be reckoned with. He stopped the Doctor and erased him from the timeline, destroying the universe in the process. Sure, someone came along and reversed it, but not many villains can actually say their diabolical plan worked.
Thanos is a great villain, and just like TGI, he completed his mission. He is the hero of his own story. He brought the universe to balance and beat the Avengers. It is a pretty impressive resume.
Look who it is. Clara Oswald. She is the companion who stopped TGI. I am not the biggest fan of the character, but I respect her. How could you not when she beat Thanos? It seems like if you want to make it on the leaderboard, you need to travel with the Doctor.
Leaderboard: 10th-6th
10th: Obi-Wan Kenobi - Star Wars
9th: Captain America - MCU
8th: Iron Man - MCU
7th: Sutekh - Doctor Who
6th: He Who Remains (Kang Variant) - MCU
Obi-Wan is such a good character. I am thrilled that he made it into the top 10. He had a ton of movie and TV appearances, both in live-action and animated form. He really pulled his own during the Clone Wars and was a pivotal character in two trilogies. Talent and screen time are a great combo when it comes to Feats N’ Faults.
Captain America and Iron Man were neck and neck the entire time I was scoring the MCU. I had no idea who would end up on top. I am a huge Captain America fan, so I was really routing for him. In the end, Iron Man came out on top. It is fitting for the MCU. He started the entire thing off and was the game changer for the end of their first era.
Again, we have another classic Who villain who came back recently. Sutekh went toe to toe with the 4th and 15th Doctors and lost to them both. Still, a universal feat is hard to beat, and that’s exactly how he earned his spot.
In 6th we have another Kang variant, He Who Remains. He also scored a lot of his points off-screen. We are starting a running theme for Kang Variants now. I am not sure if we will see anymore in the future. We’ll have to see if we get enough variants to do a top 10 for just that one character.
Leaderboard: TOP 5!
5th: Wanda Maximoff - MCU
326 FN’F Score (2016-2022) 6 Movies, 9 ep.
Wanda was an interesting character to score. Scoring her was the first time that I had to make the rule that I score a character based on her motivations. If I had scored her as a hero the entire time, her score would have gone way down. When it comes to characters like this, I have to pinpoint the moment of the change. Her Darth Vader moment, and then begin to score her as a villain from there on. Then, I add the two scores together for her total. A complicated character that performed terrifically.
4th: The Master - Doctor Who
383 FN’F Score (1971-2022) 107 ep, 1 Movie
The first and only villain in our top 5. It makes sense that he is here. His counterpart came in first, so it would not be too hard of a leap to assume he did well. He has been around longer than most of the other characters on the list. 95 episodes is crazy! You never know what you are going to get with him. Will he be the calculated scheming Master like Delgado or Ainley? Or will he be the maniacal madman like Simm and Dhawan? Either way, he is a force to be reckoned with, and you can see that here on the leaderboard.
3rd: Loki (TVA Variant) - MCU
432 FN’F Score (2011-2023) 2 Movies, 12 ep.
The Prime Timeline Loki did ok, but it is this variant that steals the show. Loki’s entire life has been spent trying to gain power and gain a throne. In this show, they take a deep dive into the character, strip him down, and give him a throne. Not one he stole or one he wanted. He changed as a character, sacrificing his existence to save all others. It is a long journey for this character, but it was one of my favorite moments of the MCU. Saving the multiverse earns you the highest point value on our board. There is no wonder that he made it to third place overall. Let’s just see how long he can hold on to that position.
2nd: Donna Noble - Doctor Who
450 FN’F Score (2006-2023) 19 ep.
Donna, Donna, Donna. Look at how far you’ve come. You ran into the Tardis by accident, but in reality, it was your destiny. A lot of companions have wanted to become more like the Doctor. Clara and Yaz gave it their best shot, but Donna actually became the DoctorDonna. Absorbing the energy and knowledge of the Doctor and becoming her own meta-crisis. She saved all of reality from Davros and is now giving the 14th Doctor some peace and quiet. Bringing him in as a part of her family so he can destress and actually deal with all the trauma he had to deal with.
1st: The Doctor - Doctor Who
3793 FN’F Score (1963-2024) 1 Movie, 883 ep.
Anyone who has been following a long saw this coming. No other character comes close to the feats that the Doctor was able to score. His stories are perfect for Feats N’ Faults. He deals with high stakes and just look at that episode count! He has been around for decades, saving the universe and putting planets back together. I mean, it started in black and white. Not just started but stayed that way for seven years! He is just a phenomenon. I do not know when or how anyone will dethrone him. If you have an idea of who might compete with the Doctor, let me know in the comments.
After counting all the IPs in the top 25, it looks like we have a tie for the strongest Universe. The MCU and Doctor Who both have placed 10 of their characters in the top 25. Star Wars is in third with 3 placements, but we have hardly scratched the surface with them. I bet we see a lot more Star Wars on this list next leaderboard.
Thanks again for reviewing all the data with me! Did anyone on the list surprise you? Were you expecting anyone else to be there instead? Let me know in the comments. Also, please let me know what movies or TV shows you’d want to see next. Next week, we will be taking a look at Feats Force. It is a new way to look at this data. So don’t forget to subscribe to keep up to date on all things Feats N’ Faults! I hope you enjoyed it and have a fantastic week. See you all next Thursday!
