Welcome back to Feats N’ Faults where we use our Tiered Point System to rank and record our favorite characters. If you want a rundown on how points are awarded, please check out the About page. Below is our Tier System for reference.
We are back to the MCU this week. We are going to be taking a look at characters related to Iron Man. How do you think they will stand up to each other? Also, remember this is not a discussion about who is more powerful. It is about who affected or changed their universe or themselves the most throughout their lives. Today’s competitors are Iron Man, Pepper Potts, Happy, Vision/Jarvis, and War Machine. Go ahead and write down from least to greatest how you think they scored.
Let’s Get Started!
FN’F, MCU: Iron Man
In Last Place we have Happy. This loveable security guard/babysitter had plenty of opportunities to score but was just never able to get there. I guess that is what happens when you are the comic relief for literal superheroes. You just do not get to see much action. This is one that I predicted before I did the scoring. How are your lists holding up?
In 4th Place we have Pepper Potts. Pepper was the glue that kept Tony’s life together. If she wasn’t in these movies Tony would have died of alcohol poisoning or gone bankrupt. She is the true hero in Iron Man’s story. But when it comes to the wider world, she was only able to score a 14 FN’F. No faults though, so she was able to hold onto all her points. We got to see her as Rescue during End Game. If only we got to see more of that, she would probably have gone up a couple of places.
Vision/Jarvis are coming in at 3rd Place! Yes, I did combine the points for Jarvis and Vision. Jarvis existed before Vision. He was then combined with Ultron and some parts of Tony and Banner and became his own thing. The same person plays both characters and I view Vision as an evolution of Jarvis. Plus, once this happens Jarvis does not come back, because he is Vision. Anyway, they got a 26 FN’F Score. It is an alright score, but I was expecting a lot more from Vision. He is a powerhouse, but he just never did anything with it.
In 2nd Place we have Tony’s right hand, War Machine. Now we are getting into more solid numbers. War Machine can be easily overlooked, but he is always around in the MCU. He just keeps showing up and kicking butt. Casually gaining FN’F Score along the way. He also suffered one of the worst injuries. Having permanent damage and being paralyzed helped to show the stakes of Civil War. Rumors are going around that he will return in Armor Wars. If so then we will have to come back later and update his score. So, stay tuned.
Woah, in 1st Place we have the man of the hour, Iron Man! That score speaks for itself. Scoring a 256 FN’F puts him ahead of other front-runners in the MCU like Thanos and Kang. He is currently our highest-scoring MCU character. He saved the Universe and destroyed everything that Thanos built. He figured out how to travel back in time and saved NYC from a nuke. This man was nonstop. He built the MCU and carried it on his back. I feel like the MCU is still trying to figure out who their new backbone is going to be. What a beast, what a legend, what an Iron Man.
Review: 6.5/10
Now remember I am just rating the three Iron Man films. As a trilogy, I think a 6.5/10 is pretty good. The first movie is a master class on how to make an origin story. From there I think it goes downhill a bit. The second movie is a little slow and the third is just not one of my favorites. They bring the overall score down. Still good movies. Some fun moments. Yeah, 6.5. I’m sticking with it.
