Welcome back to Feats N’ Faults, where we use our Tiered Point System to rank and record our favorite characters based on their achievements and deeds. For a more in depth look on how points are awarded, please check the About page. Below is our Tier System for quick reference. Spoiler Warning!
You all voted and made your voices loud and clear; we are taking a little break from the MCU and going to the land of Fire and Ice. It’s time to look at the events of Game of Thrones. We will be covering House of the Dragon once it finishes, but until then, we have a ton of characters to cover. Now, keep in mind that some scores are very impressive, but I think a lot of characters will have smaller scores than you imagined. This show is a drama, and there is a lot of talking and downtime between things actually happening. This leads to fewer things being accomplished and, thus, fewer feats. It is still exciting to see who scored the best in Westeros! Once done, we will create the best ruling King, Queen, and council from all the houses. That is what I am most excited about!
Today, we are going to be looking at House Stark. Some names like Jon Snow and Hodor might be missing, but they will be covered in other feeds since there are so many characters to cover. This week, we will be looking at Rickon, Robb, Bran, Sansa, Arya, Rodrick, Lumin, Catelyn, Eddard, and Talisa. See what I mean: we are already up to 10 characters! We are starting off Game of Thrones with a bang.
Let’s Get Started!
10th Place, Rickon Stark: 0 FN’F Score (2011-2016) 9 ep.
Oof, in last place, we have the forgotten Stark, Rickon. This kid never got a chance to prove himself. He was too young in the beginning and never got any of the spotlight. Then, he was forced to live most of his life on the run. It’s too bad we never see that part of the story. He disappears for multiple seasons and shows back up just to be killed by the Boltons. I think his Dire Wolf scored better than he did. No faults, no feats, just a plot device to make us hate Ramsey.
9th Place, Rodrik Cassel: 2 FN’F Score (2011-2016) 15 ep.
Rocking the best facial hair in the entire series is Rodrik Cassel. A loyal northerner who did anything and everything that was asked of him. He stuck with Cate and protected her while he could. During this time, he killed two men on two different occasions. Not a glamorous feat, but a practical one. In the end, He died due to Theon’s treachery. Yet, he took his execution with pride. No one is going to break Cassel.
8th Place, Maester Luwin: 2 FN’F Score (2011-2012) 14 ep.
Tied with 2 FN’F score is the maester of Winterfell. Luwin did his best for the Stark boys during their father’s absence. He tried to teach Bran and Rickon how to lead when the Northern houses looked to them for help during the war with the Lannisters. He did his best, but he was not a fighter. With all the fighting men gone to fight in Robb’s war, Luwin was doomed when the Greyjoys invaded.
7th Place, Catelyn Stark: 3 FN’F Score (2011-2016) 26 ep.
I think this score is going to surprise people. Catelyn is the matriarch of the Starks. She is a very prominent character and appears in many episodes. However, most of her time is spent advising her son in the war and trying to get her daughters back. Both of which, in the end, she fails miserably. She never gets to see her daughters and is there when Robb loses the war. It is a sad end for this powerful and resilient woman. But that just makes it all the sweeter when the Starks finally get their revenge on the Freys.
6th Place, Talisa Stark: 4 FN’F Score (2012-2013) 11 ep.
I was honestly surprised that Talisa was in 11 episodes. During my rewatch, I almost didn’t track her because I had no recollection of her being in the show that much. I am glad I did. She played a huge role during her season and was, in my opinion, the reason Robb’s war seemed to stagnate.
She still played her role in those battles. As one of the only doctors we saw during this time, she amputated limbs and gave the injured as much care as she could. It was on this battlefield that she found most of her success in FN’F.
5th Place, Robb Stark: 10 FN’F Score (2011-2016) 23 ep.
Speaking of Robb, we have our first bug jump in points. He was the first character to break into double digits, even if it was barely. When his father was executed, Robb took it upon himself to wage war, avenge his family, and save his sisters. He started off strong, too. He beat the Lannister armies and drove closer and closer to the king's landing. Everything looked like it was going his way. An army was at his back, his enemy was losing every battle, and a new wife with a baby was on the way. Then, everything fell apart in a single night. He spurned the wrong wrinkly old, self-interested man. By not marrying one of Walder’s daughters, Robb allows the Lannister’s pocketbook to beat him. Walder, working with the Lannisters, invited Robb in and then murdered the family. In one night, the head of the wolf was cut off, and the war was over. Still, Robb had some pretty impressive feats.
4th Place, Ned Stark: 10 FN’F Score (2011-2017) 19 ep.
Ned is the reason I got into the show. I thought the first season was okay, and I stuck with it because of how good everyone said it was. Then, when he was executed during the season finale, I finally understood. Anyone could die, and everyone was at risk. It made the world feel real, lived in, and dangerous.
Ned might have only had a single season, but he does show up later as a younger version during a flashback. During this time, he scored zero faults, and that’s how he beat the tiebreaker with his eldest son. Ned was a fantastic hand of the king. If Robert hadn’t died from that boar, I bet Ned could have turned the kingdom around. He could talk sense into Robert and actually wanted to do what was best for the seven realms. As always, politics gets in the way, and Little Finger turns on the Ned. Ned was not prepared for the backstabbing that happens at Kings Landing. It is no place for an honorable man. The proud northerners cannot imagine the world behind the scenes of the throne.
3rd Place, Bran Stark: 15 FN’F Score (2011-2019) 40 ep.
Bran was the surprising winner of the Game of Thrones. No one would have suspected this permanently injured boy would rule the six realms one day. He had a complicated and treacherous journey. Being pulled by a slay for most of it. He learned how to master his Warg abilities and became the Three-Eyed Raven. With this, he can see the past and the future. This means he knew he was going to be the king, that cheeky bastard. Kept all of us in suspense.
He was never a physical threat. He relied on his mental capabilities unless Hodor was around. Bran used him as a meat shield to protect himself. He even killed multiple people with him. I always felt terrible for Hodor. He would never kill anyone, and Bran seemed to use him without remorse. Hodor was marked from the beginning by Bran and never got proper thanks for his sacrifice.
2nd Place, Sansa Stark: 21 FN’F Score (2011-2019) 59 ep.
The Stark kids made their house proud, but the daughters really shined. They both went through different trials, but Sansa was the most constantly tortured character in the series. Initially, she got what she had always dreamed of and learned the consequences. Not only were her dreams crushed and tarnished, but she was held captive in them. Forced to live under the thumb of a family that utterly despised her. No help or escape in sight. She was scared to look for help and even turned some down for fear that she would be tortured. Until Little Finger framed her for killing the king and whisking her away before she could think. She had a brief respite with her aunt until the unimaginable happened, and she was right back where she had started.
Sansa broke when she was married off to the Boltons. She decided to finally take life into her own hands, and ever since, she was a true power in the world. Jumping off that tower was the best decision she ever made. From there, she returned to Winterfell, saved her brother in the battle of the bastards, and became the Queen of the North, where she made an independent nation. Sansa Stark learned and studied everywhere she went, and when she was ready, she permanently changed the world.
1st Place, Arya Stark: 44 FN’F Score (2011-2019) 59 ep.
Arya more than doubled Sansa’s score. One of the reasons for this was because she scored the single feat worth the most points in the series. She saved all seven realms by killing the Night King. Arya always dreamed of being a knight. The womanly life never suited her. She wanted more and achieved it. She walked down many paths and eventually knew what she wanted. Turning away from the path laid before her on multiple occasions and arose as her own unique person. She sleeps beside wolves and hounds, has many faces, dances with water, and kills gods. What a way to be remembered. I wonder if any other houses will be represented by a better character or if anyone can beat Arya’s score?

Fun! I thought Ned would have at least a couple faults, but this ranking makes perfect sense 👌 even though I disliked the ending, it can't be denied that Arya was the MVP of the Starks
